Dress Like a French Woman

A Parisian-inspired one-page style guide for effortless, everyday dressing.

Top Home Decor

Over the years I have learned what I love and do not love to decorate our home with. I believe this is something that takes time because like everything else your style evolves and what you loved 5 years ago is probably different than what you love today. However, with that being said there are always 5 home decor items I would never live without. No matter what house I moved to or where I lived, these would always be the top 5 home decor items I would need in my home.

Fresh Flowers

Fresh Flowers - Flowers will always be my number one pick for top decor item in your home. All it takes is a few simple stems to elevate any room. I love to get mine at Trader Joe's. A few favorite are Hydrangeas, Tulips, and Queen Anne's Lace. A little greenery also goes along way.

Candles

Candles - Candles are like a little bit of luxury for me. I love to light a candle early in the morning or at dusk to soften the mood. You don't need anything fancy even some unscented pillars or votives do the trick. Candles just provide that bit of elegance and spa like zen to your home. Some of my favorites are Diptyque, Trudon, Joe Malone, and Astier De Villatte.

Coffee Table Books

FAVORITE COFFEE TABLE BOOKS — LIFE ON GRAND AVENUE (3).jpeg

I always say you can tell a lot about a person by the books they have in their home. Coffee table books are an obsession of mine. I love to display three or four on our coffee table with some flowers. Tip- Sometimes I take the book jacket off if I prefer the color of the book by itself better.

Decorative Pillows

Decorative Pillows - Pillows can instantly change the look of your room. I like to invest in basic ones I can use throughout the year. Then I will add in a few fun pieces depending on the season. I love to look for pillows on ETSY, Serene & Lily, and Pottery Barn.

Trays

Decorative Trays Life on Grand

Trays are one of the easiest ways to add some decor to your home. You can use them to hide clutter, display a vase of flowers, or just sit pretty on your counter. Target and Pottery Barn are my favorite places to look for trays.
